A Riddle

. . . about math and Mike Huckabee, that is.

Q: What does presidential candidate Mike Huckabee have in common with the Alpine School District?

A. They both disdain math and prefer to trust in miracles.

As CBSNews.com reported it,

"I know people say that the math doesn't work out," Huckabee said recently. "Folks, I didn't major in math. I majored in miracles, and I still believe in those too."

In ASD's case, the hoped-for miracle is that not actually teaching math (just teaching about math) will lead to mathematical proficiency. In Huckabee's case, I suppose the anticipated miracle is either the relatively aged John McCain having a heart attack or an aneurysm, or Huckabee himself having enough delegates to force McCain to name him as running mate in order to secure the Republican nomination.
