Tuesday, August 30, 2005On China, MostlyIt's starting to look like foreign policy week here at the blog. (Fair warning: There's some risk of next week looking like Supreme Court nominee week.) Today's main thread is China. Here's a piece about a Muslim cleric who thinks China's historic approach to the West would better suit the Muslim world than terrorism. And here's a piece from Time about some hacking that is probably official, probably Chinese, and therefore probably also part of China's current approach to the West. It also has some disturbing but all too familiar things to say about law enforcement, intelligence, and counter-espionage in the US. Note this other recent mention of China's patient peacetime strategy; it has a link to a good article. Copyright 2005 by David Rodeback. |
