Thursday, May 24, 2007American Fork's New LogoOn Tuesday the American Fork City Council adopted a new City logo. Here it is. How do you like it? Back in December I blogged about a proposed new logo for American Fork City and included the image for you to consider. Tuesday evening the American Fork City Council adopted a simplified version of that same logo, so it's now official. The vote was 2-2, then 3-2 in favor as Mayor Thompson cast his tiebreaking vote in favor of the logo. (Tiebreaking votes are the Mayor's only votes in our system of city government.) Whether you like the new logo or not -- obviously, some don't -- it's hard to argue with this case for replacing the old wagon wheel logo: A few dozen other towns and cities in Utah also use a wagon wheel for their logo. Here it is. What do you think? (The image below is a digital photo of a board MFCC brought home from the meeting. It is the best my photographer could do under the circumstances, but is not perfectly proportioned or lit. If someone will send me a more perfect image, I'll be happy to post it.)
