Two Deadlines for American Fork: One Real, One Proposed

One quick thought each about American Fork's broadband and preserving historic buildings.

According to American Fork City's Web site, RFPs related to the City's municipal broadband system, AFCNet, and the various fiber-optic lines, are due by 3:00 p.m. today. Difficult decisions will follow. Cross your fingers. One may hope that the process, not just the outcome, will feature abundant communication and explanation from City officials.

Note American Fork City Councilor Heidi Rodeback's explanation of the Council approving the demolition of two old houses on West Main Street, and her advocacy of a six-month moratorium on downtown development, to allow City ordinances to catch up with the times. Sounds like a good idea to me -- as it did before, when neighbor Ken Draper advocated it.
